About Tibet101
Tibet101 is an educational and research-based hub dedicated to preserving, promoting and protecting the truth about Tibet. It is initiated by a group of Tibetan professionals, including Tibet experts, researchers, and scholars, committed to providing credible, accurate, and evidence-based information about Tibet.
For Tibetans, it serves as a space to reconnect with rich history, ancient civilization, and enduring traditions. For non-Tibetans, it offers a reliable, evidence-based understanding of Tibet—free from the distortions and disinformation systematically propagated by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), particularly through digital and social media channels.
The CCP has long attempted to rewrite the history of Tibet and manipulate its narrative to justify its occupation and policies. Leveraging economic influence and organized networks of online propagandists, it has flooded the global information space with misleading narratives about Tibet’s past and present.
Tibet101 was created in direct response—to be a one-stop, fact-verified repository where anyone can access academically sound, historically accurate, and transparently sourced information on Tibet and the Tibet–China issue.
In a time when truth competes with algorithm-driven falsehoods, we believe access to credible knowledge is an act of resistance. Our platform brings together:
Clear explanations of why Tibet matters
Tibet’s documented history before and after the CCP occupation
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on the Tibet–China issue
Peer-reviewed publications and primary sources
Curated multimedia materials—videos, podcasts, and lectures—verified by scholars and historians
Every historical reference and fact on Tibet101 is meticulously verified by historians and researchers to ensure integrity, credibility, and transparency.
We hope that Tibetans—especially young Tibetans—will actively use the knowledge and data from this site to engage in digital advocacy, using social media and technology as powerful tools to debunk disinformation and reclaim Tibet’s narrative in the global discourse.
Tibet101 stands as both a scholarly archive and a call to action: to learn, to share, and to speak truth in the face of distortion.
